Emily Oke is Miss Dinagyang 2013

by Pepin

Elegance, poise, and wit - three words that best sum up the Miss Dinagyang 2013 winner, Emily Victoria Oke. A front-runner since day one of the pageant, she did not disappoint her supporters after a splendid performance in this year's edition of the most prestigious pageant in Iloilo City.

A college sophomore from Central Philippine University, Oke has been winning local school pageants and has been spotted in several fashion shows in and around the city since her high school days.

Everyone label her "The Ilongga Black Beauty" because of her striking features and skin color. Her father is Nigerian and her mom a Filipino.

During the pageant night, Oke exhibited fierceness and elegance on stage with her well-polished catwalk skills and confidence. Her winning answer on the final question sealed the crown for her.

Ruffa Gutierrez, Miss World 1993 Second Princess, and Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe 1999 First Runner Up, were two of the judges that were impressed by Oke's performance.

Emily will be busy promoting the city's tourism industry throughout her reign and she will represent the Dinagyang Festival in the Miss Aliwan Fiesta 2013 to be held in Manila City this coming April.

Rojessa Anne Peregil and  Froilene Villanueva were the First Runner Up and Second Runner Up, respectively.
