Water Shortage:
How does it affect you?

by Pepin

For the next three months, Filipinos will be enduring water shortage. But how could it happen? How come that an abundant natural resource will be scarce? The reason for this is quite simple; our planet is still aching with the effects of global warming.

If we feel thirsty and our heads are shaking with displease, so is our lands and the millions of creatures that are now dying from the tremendous upshot of global warming. Water is a vital element, not only for you, but for every single living organism on the planet. If it will become inadequate, then all life forms will suffer.

Do we still have time to stop water from getting sparse? For the next three months, I don’t believe there is something we can do to end the crisis. The problem is already here and we must face it by all means. But we can do something to prevent it from getting worst and save our destiny in the succeeding years. Reversing global warming is a long shot, but we can decelerate its consequences right now by putting a stop to our habits that causes such life-threatening problem.

One of the best solutions is to avoid pollution – whether on land, air, or water. It is one of the culprits that contributed for the intense heating of the earth. If we can reduce the emission of green house gases, dispose our trash properly and wisely, and steer clear of using poisonous chemicals on soils and seas, we can impede the problem from getting worst, and there will be hope for all of us.
