Kasadyahan has a new champ

With a flamboyant and breath-taking performance, Tribu Salakayan of the Municipality of Miag-ao, Iloilo emerged as champions of the Kasadyahan Festival held last January 21, 2012 at Iloilo City. It was a surprise win for this tribe that once competed back in 1997.

Here is a complete list of winners of the Kasadyahan Festival 2012:

Champion: Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao, Iloilo

1^st runner-up: Tribu Mandaragat

2^nd runner-up: Sinulog sang Oracon Festival of Sibunag, Guimaras

3^rd runner-up: Sinadya sa Halaran of Capiz

4^th runner-up: Tribu Maragtas of West Visayas State University

Best in Street Dance: Tribu Panguyang of Antique

Best in Performance: Salakayan Festival

Best in Choreography: Salakayan Festival

Best Choreographer: Salakayan Festival

Best in Music: Tribu Mandaragat

Best in Costume: Sinulog sang Oracon Festival

Tribu Salakayan will represent the Kasadyahan Festival of Iloilo City in the 2012 edition of the Aliwan Fiesta. Tourists can also witness the Salakayan Festival every first week of February at Miag-ao, Iloilo.
